25th European English
Teachers' Seminar
The Seminar is open to all teachers of English at secondary
schools and colleges. The aim of the Seminar is to bring participants
up to date with developments in English language and literature,
introduce ideas for classroom use and provide information on
contemporary British and cultural issues. The programme offers a
balance of academic lectures and practical sessions with a range of
networking events and theatre visits.
Sessions include:
- Developments in the uses of the English language
- New fiction
- Workshop and play at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre
- Education and community issues in Britain
- Delegates' discussion groups
- Backstage tour of the National Theatres
- A session with a contemporary poet & author
- Social evening
The European English Teachers’ Seminar takes place
in West London
and delegates would be able to opt for bed and breakfast
accommodation with local families. Delegates may be eligible for
funding through the Comenius or Grundtvig Lifelong Learning Programme
and
participants should apply directly to the Comenius and Grundtvig
agencies in their own
countries.
NOTE: The European English Teachers' Seminar is not being
offered in 2014.
